The base game uses a 5x3 grid with 20 paylines, while symbol pays range from 0.50x to 250x your bet. The diamond scatter pays 40x for three symbols, while the star scatter can pay up to 200x. Smaller wins between 1x and 2x my stake were fairly common, but the game could also leave me waiting up to 15 spins between wins. My best regular combination came from five horseshoes, which brought me a respectable 35x payout.

There are wild symbols as well, although it doesn't pay on its own. Instead, it expands when it lands on reels 2, 3, or 4 to help connect winning combinations. I didn't get enough useful wilds during my session to make them a major factor, so the regular symbols did most of the heavy lifting in my session.

With the gaps between wins getting frustrating, I found myself using the gamble feature almost immediately. After each win, you can choose to gamble the payout by predicting whether a face-down card will be red or black. Get it right and your win doubles, but get it wrong and the entire payout disappears. It's simple, risky, and exactly the sort of feature that can make a mediocre win suddenly worth chasing.

There are no free spins here, so the jackpot feature is your other big chance at a serious payout. It randomly activates a match-three game with 18 orbs, and matching three of the same symbol awards the corresponding jackpot, with prizes ranging from 20x all the way up to 5,000x your bet.

20 Power Joker is about as straightforward as fruit slots get, but the gamble feature gives the base game a little extra tension and the jackpot keeps the 5,000x ceiling within reach. The long gaps between wins aren't ideal, though, and without a free spins feature, you'll need to be comfortable grinding the base game or taking some serious risks with your winnings.
