The game runs on a 5x4 grid with 14 paylines, and you need 3 matching symbols from the left to get paid. Base game was rough. Wins showed up every 4 to 6 spins, mostly sitting between 0.20x to 0.70x my bet. Wilds weren’t rare and even landed early on reels 1 and 2, but it didn’t matter much when the symbol values were this low.

The VS feature is where things are supposed to turn. When a VS symbol lands and connects, it expands into a full DuelReel and triggers a battle between two symbols, each carrying a multiplier. These values get added and applied to the win. Sounds great, but in my session, most multipliers sat around 2x to 3x. That meant even when the feature hit, payouts struggled to cross 2x my bet. To get anything meaningful here, you really need something above 5x paired with a proper connection.

Free spins came early, which helped. Three scatters triggered Meet Your Maker, giving 10 spins with a higher chance of VS symbols. That part actually held true. I started seeing DuelReels from the first spin, with 3x and 4x multipliers showing up consistently.

The best moment came when I hit a 9x multiplier paired with a 2x on another reel. That combo finally lined up with a decent hit and paid just over 50x in one spin. After that, though, the feature cooled off fast. The remaining spins didn’t build on it, and the round closed at 74.70x total.

Death Becomes You leans heavily on its duel system, and when the multipliers line up, it shows flashes of what it can do. But most of the time, you’re waiting for that one moment to land, and if it doesn’t, the rest doesn’t carry much weight.
