Frosty Bonanza by Mancala Gaming is set in a candy world filled with sweets, ice creams, and a 15,000x max win. I had a job to finish in this icy little world, chasing up to 15 Free Spins and multipliers worth up to 8x my bet.

This is a six-reel, six-row grid, although only a three-reel, three-row section is active at the start. The 3x3 grid sitting above it remains frozen until the Fire Bazooka symbols come and blast those rows open. Cascading wins and a cluster payout system keep the whole thing running.

But for that, you’ll need at least six identical symbols to trigger the avalanche effect. The multipliers can pay out independently of the regular symbol combinations. Whenever one landed, I got paid, although they were not showing up every other spin.

In my case, I was able to trigger a cascade roughly every 10 to 12 spins, with an average return between 2x and 3x my bet. The multipliers gave me some relief, bringing returns of 6x and 7x my bet in the base game.

I was quite disappointed with the cascading mechanics, as the requirements were a bit too heavy for such a congested slot. The bonus rounds, on the other hand, were surprisingly frequent. I landed the feature nearly ten times during my playthrough.

Sadly, none of them went beyond 30x my bet. My three highest bonus returns were 21x, 25x, and 30x my bet. There are Bonus Buy options available as well, but I wouldn’t even think about it. Those underwhelming natural bonuses gave me enough of a hint about where that road could lead.

I have played games like Frosty Bonanza quite a few times before, especially from Pragmatic Play. If all six reels were open throughout the entire gameplay, I reckon the experience could have been much better. But since that’s not the case, I would rather spend my time with another Bonanza than stay frozen here.
