You'll be standing face to face with the keeper, and every ball you put past him multiplies what you're holding. One miss clears the lot, so the skill is knowing when to stop.
Outsmart the keeper, try to get into the Golden Cup bonus where a miss no longer wipes your multiplier, and move closer to a 10,000x max payout with every shot.
You can shoot left, right, or in the middle. Naturally, the trickiest shot is the one in the middle, so the multipliers there run from 3.31x to 30x. Left and right are the safer corners, both with the same range of 1.01x to 11.25x.
A few more things come in handy. The Change button reshuffles the multipliers on all three buttons when none of them suit you, up to 20 times per bet, and you'll be presented with a potential win before every shot, so you know exactly what you're aiming for.

My session was pretty annoying, as, first of all, I never managed to beat the keeper when shooting in the middle. Despite my concentrated effort, that's just unrealistic for more than 50 stubborn tries. Aiming for the right angle was almost as unsuccessful, but I had a few lucky shots throughout, one for 1.77x and the other for 9.45x my bet.
Overall, after 150 penalties taken, I was left with only one useful strategy. Just shoot as many balls to the left as you can, and you can really expect constant, smaller wins to slowly build up your balance. Even when you pile up some cash, my recommendation is to not go for the middle, it's extremely hard to pass.
