With cool ocean-like music and lots of smiling fish, this slot presents the sea theme perfectly. Its graphics are sharp and pleasant to the eye. All the action happens under the sea (as the name suggests), with mermaids and fish swimming around. 

For whatever reason, Betsoft developed this game with a very low RTP of 93.35%. It is even more disappointing that the game has low variance. So, why did I give it a 2-star rating? Doesn’t it have anything of substance? 

First, I have to mention that the game is quite monotonous. The wild is the only feature that can spice up the game. It occurs fairly frequently, and when it forms a winning combination, a multiplier will be applied. This can be 2X, 4X, or 8X, depending on the number of wilds. It is close to impossible to get the 8X multiplier, which is unfortunate.

Free spins are equally as rare. They are triggered by the floating ship symbol (3, 4, or 5). You can get 8 to 15 free spins in this slot machine. Betsoft makes the deal sweeter with a 2X multiplier. If your stars are aligned, you can make very high profits with this feature. 

The third feature is the bonus round. You’ll activate it when you get 3 treasure chest symbols anywhere. The bonus round hides some nice surprises, but I struggled to trigger it.

One thing I can appreciate about this slot is that it stretches your budget. You’re unlikely to score big wins, but you can play for long without losing a lot of money.  

To summarize, Under the Sea is a beautiful slot that executes the ocean theme perfectly. But beauty is probably the only thing you’ll enjoy in the game. The bonus features (free spins and bonus games) are triggered rarely. Only the wild can consistently boost your winnings.
