Diving into Action with Ace Round

At first glance, Evoplay’s Ace Round reminded me of Call of Duty, so I had to try it out and see if the theme matched the expected action. Before discussing the gameplay, I must point out that Evoplay did a clean job with the graphics, and the Middle-Eastern cityscape backdrop with elements like crates and oil barrels were well thought out. That said, let’s get right into action.

The game started with my 5th spin, dishing out five a kind of bomb icon, which paid out 150 for a stake of 10 coins. It was easily a great start that gave me hopes of hitting another win in the next 10 spins, but Ace Round differs from those seemingly predictable slots. The next 15 to 20 spins were less productive than my 5th spin, but I did manage to get a few small wins here and there.

Each time a wild appeared on the screen, it moved to the next reel on the following spin until it left the screen. At no point during my first 50 spins did this icon do anything special, leaving me to wonder why it was there in the first place. However, once I had two wilds, one on the leftmost reel and the other on the right, and they met somewhere in the middle, I instantly received 10 free spins.

Another thing I liked was the red fire grenade feature that showed up when I least expected it, burning out the bottom row to create a cascade. While it didn’t end up in any wins, it introduced a twist that spiced up the session. I’d say Ace Round is worth a try but don’t expect to hit it big too early.
