Set in the deep Central American rainforest, Totem de Oro depicts the ancient society of the Mayans in style. Mighty jaguars and warriors cover the reels alongside a peaceful forest background. 

The base game gives you a 5x3 grid with 25 pay lines and medium-high volatility. From my extensive testing, I was making wins every 2 to 4 bets with the amount ranging between 0.2x to 4x the bet. Although promising, most wins were small and wouldn’t let you recover your bet by themselves. 

This is where the money symbols come in. The expanding wild-collect symbol can land randomly on reel 3 and collect all the money symbols on the reels and get you an instant reward. Although not super common during my playthrough, the base game and the symbol collect feature can get you handy profits. 

Coming to the bonus game, you have to dig deep into the ground to find the Mayan treasures. Land 3 bonus symbols and you can trigger the free spins feature where you start with 6 spins and you can earn more by landing additional wild symbols. 

I got between 6 to 8 free spins during my testing and had 30x to 60x returns with the bonus round. However, it took me quite some time to get to the bonus round. I’m glad the expanding wild-collect was present to keep the gameplay interesting.  

You also have the option to buy the bonus round for 100x your bet but after testing it numerous times, the results were way too low to recommend getting it. The game is interesting with quick wins and with some luck, the free spins round will come around so don’t go after the bonus buy button.
