I’ve played many football-themed slots over the years, and this one easily ranks among the best of the lot. I was impressed with its setting and game design. The background features a football stadium with fans going wild. There’s no soundtrack, but throughout the game, I could hear the typical sounds of a live football game. This entire design made the game quite immersive for me. 

The design isn’t all I liked in the game. At the top of the playing grid, there are 12 cells; 6 on the right and 6 on the left. Any time you get a ball symbol, it’s collected in the cells on the right and triggers the Super Striker feature. It took quite a while for this bonus to get triggered during my gameplay. 

With it, a striker will appear on the screen and take a free kick. The result is that ball symbols (special wilds) will be placed on random spots on the grid. I always won huge sums of money with this feature since the special wild is able to replace all other symbols to form winning combinations. 

I was also impressed by the Knockout Free Games bonus. I had to collect 6 trophy symbols to trigger this bonus. This is played on a different set of reels and includes a time and score board. To score a goal here, the ball will have to land on the central position of the fifth reel. What I liked about this bonus is that you don’t necessarily need to win the match to get a prize. There’s a fixed cash prize for landing the bonus.

To sum up, Knockout Football offered an exciting playing experience. Its bonuses can take a while to come around, but they proved to be highly lucrative. I also liked the design of the game.
