KA Gaming is bringing the classic European folk tale of Little Red Riding Hood to life in their slot title with the same name. The Red Riding Hood slot game comes with a cartoonish art style, a mysterious forest background, and a bonus game ripped right out of the famous story told for generations. 

Booting up the game brings you to the middle of the enchanted woods full of glowing flies and a more traditional 5x3 grid linked by 35 paylines. Although the mechanics might seem profitable, the game gave me small wins for the most part ranging from 0.20x to 1.5x the bet every 2 to 5 spins. 

The biggest wins during my playthrough came courtesy of the free spins mini-game which takes 3 scatters to trigger. You get 18 free spins and the wins in my case varied from a respectable 23x my bet to a much more impressive 42.5x my bet. I was able to trigger the feature a total of four times in less than 300 spins so it’s not super hard to trigger either. 

For the final bonus game, the Finding Grandma feature can be triggered by landing 3 or more bonus symbols adjacent to each other. It is much harder to trigger and took me over 60 spins to start. In the bonus game, you have to pick between two grandmas with the catch being one of them is just a wold pretending to be grandma. 

It’s a 50/50 toss up and the wins during the round aren’t impressive at all. The game does say bigger bets would mean bigger wins in this round but it is way too hard to trigger so I’d recommend sticking to smaller bets and waiting for the free spins to drop by. 

For fans of storytelling slots, Red Riding Hood brings a brand new yet familiar world to explore with some impressive wins in the bonus games. That being said, the low wins in the base game and the infrequent Finding Grandma feature make it a slot best enjoyed for free on our website and not for real money.
