Robo Crash by Urgent Games: A Frustrating Odyssey
Vlad rated this game:
2.5 out of 5
Are you ready for my honest opinion on Robo Crash by Urgent Games? Buckle up because this one's a rollercoaster. I decided to dive into this betting game with an open mind, eager to see what it had to offer. Little did I know, I would spend a whopping 25 minutes waiting without getting a chance to actually play. Let me shed some light on this experience.
The objective of Robo Crash seems straightforward enough. You're presented with an astronaut poised for liftoff using a jetpack, and your task is to place your bet before liftoff. As the astronaut soars, the multiplier steadily climbs, and you must cash out before it's too late. Sounds familiar, right? The catch is, there's no info tab to clarify the rules. I relied on past gaming experiences to grasp the mechanics since the game itself offered no guidance. I found out about the 2 collect options from different sources, not the gameplay itself, which are Cashout and 50% Cashout.
Now, here's where the frustration kicks in. Robo Crash is a multiplayer game, meaning you share sessions with other players. The multiplier increases at an agonizingly slow pace. I joined when it was at 250X, and as I write this, it's crawled up to 392X and counting. Shockingly, I haven't placed a single bet during my 25-minute wait. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate the fact that the multiplier can go this high, the other session was at about 1300X, but I find the wait unacceptable.
The game provides options to adjust your bet, view the outcome of previous rounds, and even displays a list of users' bets, multipliers, and wins. But here's the kicker: in my session, not a single bet was placed by any player. So, why subject players to endless waiting when they're the sole participants? I also opened another session in another tab, same story.
Graphically, Robo Crash impresses with cool visuals. The astronaut's animations and the backdrop are smooth, while high-quality assets enhance the experience. The music sets the mood, although I can't comment on the sound effects since I never got to experience any. The game itself is eerily silent.
The user interface is clean, intuitive, and navigation-friendly. Adjusting my bet and checking previous rounds posed no problems. There are buttons for setting Auto Cashout at a specific multiplier and a 50% auto cashout option, which cashes out half of your bet at a predetermined multiplier.
In conclusion, Robo Crash left me thoroughly disappointed. The excruciating wait times and lack of player interaction make it impossible to recommend. This one's a pass for me, maybe you’ll have better luck.
