The base game was fairly simple with a 5x3 grid that comes with 20 paylines. After spinning the reels over 200 times, I was winning every 3 to 6 bets which checks out as the slot has medium-high volatility. The win amounts would range from 1.5x to 6x returns which was also neat. 

Landing matching combinations is much easier in this slot compared to other recent Booming Games’ titles thanks to the high number of wild symbols that drop with multipliers between 2x to 5x which adds to the win significantly. 

You also have the tried and true free spins mini-game which can be triggered by landing 3 or more scatters which gets you between 7 to 15 spins based on the amount of scatter symbols landed. Despite the symbol being super common in the base game, it took me a long time to actually trigger the bonus game. 

During the bonus game, any wild symbols that drop down the reels are locked in place for the entire duration of the round. Additionally, any scatter symbols that land will add a 1x multiplier to all locked wilds as well as give you 1 extra free spin. 

I found one or two scatters were common during the free spins round and returns ranged from 30x to 55x my bet which was super impressive. You have the option to buy the bonus round for 60x your bet and I tried that too but the low returns didn’t justify using it during real money play. 

I’ll wrap this up by saying that Power of Rome by Booming Games is a fun slot title for people who are fans of ancient history like myself. Although it’s not extraordinary in any way, it has decent returns and doesn’t make gameplay too complex with tons of features.
