Popiplay is bringing back fruit-based slot games with a twist this time around in Angry Fruits. With a cheeky grin on their faces, these fruits make sure you remember that they didn’t come here to take part but to take over! 

With free spins with up to 10x multipliers and scatters that add additional multipliers, the stage was set for some big wins, let me tell you what happened next though. 

The game started off on a high note with colorful fruits dotting the 5x3 grid of the game joined by 10 paylines and medium volatility. This is where my first issue with the game came about, landing winning symbol combinations during the base game was harder than I thought. On average, I was getting between 1.5x to 5.5x returns every 5 to 9 spins! 

Although I got a few impressive wins up to 12x my bet, they were so rare that they didn’t make much impact on the base game’s profitability from my testing. With the low paylines and infrequent wins, there were times I was spinning the reels over 10 times for a win! 

The bonus symbol landed plenty of times on the reels and would often come in pairs, but that wasn’t enough to trigger the bonus round. It took me over 40 spins to get the 3 symbols necessary to trigger the round and I can safely say it was a game-changer in terms of wins. 

Landing just 3 scatters gets you a regular spin in the bonus wheel whereas landing 4 or 5 scatters can significantly boost the wins by adding a 3x and 10x multiplier respectively. 

Although the wins during the base game may not be very enticing, I won between 22x to 120x returns on my bet after triggering the bonus wheel feature over 4 times. On average, you can expect wins between 31x to 67x your bet from my testing. 

On a similar note, although there is a tantalizing buy bonus feature right next to the reels, I would not recommend using it. It costs 100x your bet and the returns vary so much that more often than not I made a loss using the feature. 

Angry Fruits may not have had the best start but it definitely has the potential for some big wins, especially in the bonus round. Just don’t expect impressive results in the base game and try your bets to trigger the bonus wheel feature and you will have a good time.
