Hot Blizzard by Tom Horn Gaming: Blast From The Past!

Now, before I tell you my honest opinion about this online slot game, we must get something straight right out of the gates: I am not a fan of old school slot games! There, I said it… I mean I do appreciate and acknowledge the legacy, and give them what is due, but I don't particularly enjoy them. The old school slot games I mean. I am at a point where I need to see some next gen graphics and animations, some cool themes and engaging soundtracks. Not to mention some elaborate features that can bring good money to the table. Well, guess what, Hot Blizzard developed by Tom Horn Gaming has none of those things I like and want in an online slot game. So, I might be a bit biased, but here goes.

From the very start, the classic vibe overwhelmed me. Hot Blizzard has no music or soundtrack other than some scarce sound effects. The theme is the overly used fruit one. Need I say something about the graphics? They are at a minimum requirement setting, and that’s putting it mildly. Granted, the developers thought to give this slot a modern touch, so some interesting features are present, like the Free Spins with a retrigger possibility, a Multiplier, and a Gamble feature for the bold. But being present doesn’t necessarily mean that you’ll get to meet them very often. My experience with the game was not a good one, as I lost way more than I won. And, for a brief encounter with the Free Spins, I spent most of my time and money, and the reward was not what I was hoping for. Even the Gamble feature disappointed me, as I felt that it was out to get me. 

So you see, as I said in the beginning, this was not my favorite slot game. Even if I put my personal preference aside, Hot Blizzard is not the most lucrative game out there. I can appreciate a good classic online slot, I can go past the minimal artwork and features, but it has to be at least marginally rewarding, and sorry to say, Hot Blizzard was not. I won’t advise you to avoid it, you can give it a go, especially if you are a nostalgic player or you enjoy the classic Fruit theme slots, but be careful, you could end up broke faster than you can say Hot Blizzard.
