Amaterasu Keno Review & Free Play

Amaterasu Keno is developed by Mascot Gaming, and released on February 17, 2022. Mascot Gaming studio is based in Romania, with their titles being available worldwide. Their library of games consists of titles such as Mayan Riches, For The Realm, Twin Fruits of Santa, Aloha Tiki Bar, and many others.

Keno is a lottery-like game usually played at casinos, but Mascot Gaming brings the joy of Keno to your desktop or mobile screen. Unlike ordinary Keno, Amaterasu Keno has an Eastern, Asian theme with Sakura flowers and a colorful, eye-catching theme. In addition to the basic gameplay features, Amaterasu Keno has additional bonus features to spice up the game, which we will cover in more detail later in the article.

When it comes to graphics, Amaterasu Keno does a good job of capturing the essence of the Asian-themed slots. Elements like numbers and letters are illustrated in detail and they look crispy clean.

There aren’t many animations involved except for a small sparkle surrounding the numbers you’ve chosen, but that detail works in the game’s favor due to the serene atmosphere and theme on which the game is based.

The included soundtrack is a good addition to the graphics, and it complements them perfectly. Both soundtrack and visual elements are Asian theme-based, so they complement each other for a fully immersive thematic experience.

Amaterasu Keno’s Interface is easy to understand and navigate around, with each function of the game represented by a symbol or icon which is indicative of its function. So, if you’re a first-timer playing this iteration of Keno, understanding the basic premise of the game should take you virtually no time at all.

How to Play Amaterasu Keno

Amaterasu Keno is similar to the traditional lottery. Before the round starts you place a bet on the number's position on the gameboard which ranges from 1 to 80. You pick up to 10 numbers on the board before the game draws 20 randomly chosen numbers.

The goal of the game round is to collect a winning combination by guessing as many numbers as possible out of the 20 numbers the game draws. 

The potential payout is different each time, depending on how many numbers you’ve managed to guess each round. There’s a scoreboard position to the right of the gameboard so you can easily calculate your potential win at any given time. 

This is convenient as it adds to the transparency of the payout algorithm.

Amaterasu Keno Features

Unlike traditional Keno, Amaterasu Keno has additional features to make the gameplay more fun. And if you are a lover of plain old Keno, the additional features will surely add some spice to your gameplay. Furthermore, Amaterasu Keno has an RTP rate of 95.7% and a hit rate of 16.3% and is based on HTML5, which is the latest version of HTML.

The minimum qualifying amount is 4 numbers out of the 10 chosen.  

The payouts are: 

• five correct picks bring you to an x2 win

• six guesses net you x25

• seven guesses nets you x150

• eight correct guesses will net you x1,000 

• nine and ten guesses will net you x5,000 and a mind-boggling x100,000 respectively. 

With a minimum bet of 0.10 coins and a maximum of 5,00, Amaterasu Keno is a budget-friendly game, which is good if you want to play a game in a more laid-back atmosphere, without the possibility of losing a lot of money at once.

It’s easy to notice some of the additional features thanks to the well-organized UI. As soon as look at the gameboard you’ll see different buttons placed around the central button which serves for initiating the game round, which signals the game to start drawing 20 random numbers.

There’s an autoplay button located on the main screen which lets you put the game into autopilot mode, letting you enjoy the game with minimal interaction. However, the autoplay button hides a plethora of options you can use to modify how the function behaves. This is a welcome addition, as even when using the autoplay function, the game still makes you feel like you’re in control, and not just a bystander.

The first option lets you select how many rounds you want to play on autoplay. You can choose to play 10, 25, 50, 100, 150, 300, and indefinity autoplay mode. 

Furthermore, the next option is to stop autoplay automatically if you Win, you win Free Games and you can set the win parameter anywhere from any Win, to Big and Giant. You can also stop autoplay if your Balance Increases by 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%.

Alternatively, you can do the same if your Budget decreases by the same amounts listed above.

The autoplay feature is great and mostly seen in slot machines, so they are a welcome addition to this casino game. To the right of the main button in the center is a little button with 2 dice in the center. 

This function lets the game chooses random numbers from 1 – to 10 on its own. If you think the computer algorithm is better at choosing your lucky numbers for you, this is the perfect function to use.

Lucky Number Feature

The Lucky Number Feature is a good addition to this iteration of Keno. In each game round, after the player makes his or her choice, 3 random numbers on the gameboard are chosen. But they are never the same as the ones the player has chosen. 

If 1 – 3 Lucky Numbers match the random draw an x1, x3, or x5 multiplier is applied to the win of the round for the main game and an x2, x6, and x10 multiplier for the Free Game.

Free Game Mode

If a player scores a win in the round, and one of the chosen numbers corresponds to the last number of the draw, the player wins 5 free rounds. The free rounds are automatically played, as the player sits back

to enjoy the spoils.

Free Game Mode uses the same stake and numbers the player had selected when the Free Game mode was triggered. The fun part is, that more Free Games can be won for the duration of the current Free Games.

All in all, for a Keno game, Amaterasu Keno brings interesting ways to play to the table.

Mobile Version

As Amaterasu Keno is based on HTML5 is perfectly playable on any mobile device with an active internet connection, anywhere and at any time. As long as you have a mobile device with an up-to-date internet browser you shouldn’t run into any issues when playing Amaterasu Keno.

The graphics on mobile look just as fine as they look on a desktop screen, but the UI is rearranged to better fit a smaller screen. The only downside to the mobile version of the game is the lack of visibility of all the game features at a single time. 

In order to view the scoreboard and the last number panel, you have to press an arrow icon to swipe the screen right. While not a big issue it would be nice if Mascot Gaming found a way to somehow fit everything on one screen.

However, none of the game functions have been removed from the mobile version, so the gameplay remains 100% the same, and nothing is taken away from the game.
