Cocktail Splash: Help the Surfer Outrun the Shark and Cash Out Before the Bite
Matija Antic rated this game:
5 out of 5
Amusnet skips the usual rocket and drops a surfboard onto the water in Cocktail Splash, where a tiki-masked surfer rides a tiny wave with a cocktail in hand and a shark forever snapping at his heels. He waves you on, the shark stays hungry, and the whole thing turns into one endless chase across open water, the surfer scrambling for a bigger island while the multiplier climbs.
Your job is to place a bet, the multiplier then rises, and you grab your winnings before the shark catches up and takes the round with it. It's simple, and at least for me, the animation nails it. The surfer never stops moving, never stops mugging at the screen, so even a quick round feels alive.
When I played it safe, I'd bank steady little grabs around 1.2x to 3x my bet, and the rhythm held, with rarely more than four rounds between cashouts. When I went hunting for bigger, those landed about every tenth try, usually somewhere near 8x to 12x. One round the surfer held his nerve and rode past 20x before I pulled out, heart going, which is exactly the rush this format is built for.
Layered over the top is Jackpot Cards, a four-tier prize pool running from clubs up to spades. It fires at random after a round, drops you onto twelve face-down cards, you flip until three suits match, and whichever suit you complete is the tier you take.
One thing worth knowing is that you only qualify with a bet of 5 and up, so at the dime stakes I mostly played, it stayed out of reach. But if you bump your bet a bit, it's on.
The history bar up top tells the real story of the ceiling. I don’t know why I skipped that round, but during my session, a 392x parked there among the small change while I played.
Overall, I had a lot of fun with this one. The shark chase gives it a character that the plain rocket clones never could. The wins kept coming whether I grinded or gambled, and there's a jackpot waiting for anyone betting big enough. I didn't want to close it.
- Simple gameplay loop
- Funny character and animations
- High payouts during my session
- Gamble feature
- Progressive jackpot prizes
- None
