This is a five-reel, five-row slot with a cascading cluster payout system. Landing five or more identical symbols on adjacent reels secures a win. You will need to keep an eye on the ancient beasts on the grid, especially Gorilla Chan, due to its cash collection mechanic.

Over 200+ spins, I went head-to-head with this beast, and to my surprise, Chan turned out to be quite generous. During my playthrough, I was landing wins every 3 to 4 spins, with returns between 1x and 1.80x my bet.

Special credit goes to Chan’s Quack feature, which brings multipliers into play. One return stood out when a 50x multiplier helped me secure my highest base game win of 102x my bet.

One feature that caught me off guard was the ability to win jackpots in the base game itself, something I do not see very often. There are four jackpots on offer, reaching up to 10,000x your bet. Unfortunately, I did not land any during my session.

On top of it, triggering the bonus round is very challenging. It took me nearly 120 spins to land four scatters and activate the feature with 10 free spins. Landing six scatters unlocks 25 free spins.

In the bonus round, I walked away with 192.8x my bet. Unlike the base game, each winning combination locks golden squares in place until the feature ends. During this time, whenever the gorilla symbol appears, the attached multipliers get activated.

That said, after such a strong base game, I expected a bit more from the bonus round. Still, it was an overall rewarding experience. If I had to pick a jungle-themed slot again, Chan’s Treasure would definitely be on my list.
