Ocean Kings: Not Much Going for This Underwater Slot

Ocean Kings is one of many online slots to take place underwater. Appearing on the high-paying symbols are an assortment of aquatic species such as dolphins, killer whales, octopuses, and sharks, with a shipwreck functioning as the wild. While the symbols look great, the background image, which is just plain water, doesn’t look particularly appealing or immersive.

The gameplay wasn’t the most enjoyable, to be honest. I hardly ever won; in fact, it took me around 25 spins to get my first win when I started playing. The payouts weren’t that good either. Most of the time when I won, the payout was less than my total bet. The most I won during the base game was 8x, which was welcome but seemed like a fluke.

I decided to pay for the free spins round during my playthrough since it didn’t look like it was going to trigger on its own. There were three different numbers of spins to choose from; I went for the highest number, 24, which cost 160x, though for some reason buying free spins used a fixed bet size of 0.10. My regular bet was 1, so I was effectively going to make a lot less money than I wanted to from the round. In the end, I won 9x my bet, which gave me a payout of 0.9x my regular bet. 

I enjoyed the paid free spins round, though I didn’t like the fact that it used a fixed bet size. If I’d been able to buy it with a bet value of 1, I would have won 9x my main bet, which would have been better. 

Having played Ocean Kings, I wasn’t impressed with it. The slot didn’t give me any reasons to play it again, with few wins, low payouts, and a paid free spins round that had very little potential thanks to its low fixed bet size. I’d say give Ocean Kings a miss.
