Turbo Mines: Watch Your Step

I found Turbo Mines to be a really simple game to learn. The goal of the game is to click on as many squares as possible on a grid without triggering on a mine. Each square has a different payout multiplier, so the more squares you click on, the higher your potential payout. However, if you click on a mine, the game is over and you lose your bet.

The fun part comes in the diversity of both the number of squares and multitude of available mines, so you can potentially make the game really hard to beat, but at the same time super profitable. I personally liked a balanced playstyle, where I played with 5 mines on a 7-by-7 grid. This way, I got away with the prize many rounds in a row.

A cool addition to the game is a Turbo mode that works by pre-selecting your desired squares before starting a round, and then just play the game normally, while the game checks to see if you hit mines under the selected squares.

The visuals look simple and nice, and there’s something about them that I like very much. It gives me the vibe of a DJ console of some sorts. While the gameplay can get diverse because of the many possible selections you can make, there are no special features included within. For some, the simple mechanics, combined with the modern graphics is all they need, but I would have liked it if they included an extra bonus round or prize.

All in all, I’ve had fun with the game for a while, but despite liking how it looks and runs, it became monotonous after some time playing. There is the potential for some great multipliers, but it requires an immense amount of luck, and I don’t think huge winnings are something you can rely on with this game.
