The game has very simple artwork, with symbols that look hurriedly drawn. The background is also plain red. 

Apart from the Lucky 7 and Star, the game uses the same tried-and-tested fruit symbols. These include the sliced watermelon, orange, and berries. Lucky 7 is the highest-paying symbol in the game, but the rest offer decent payouts. 

What disappointed me the most in this game was the lack of a soundtrack. It’s even worse that Amatic added unpleasant sound effects to celebrate winning combinations. 

As mentioned, this is an extremely simple game to play. The paylines are fixed at 5, so you can’t increase or decrease them. To spin the reels or collect your rewards, you can simply use the spacebar. A simpler way to play is just to use the auto-spin function. Note that this automates an unlimited number of spins, so your eyes need to be on the reels the entire time. 

Without any useful features, this game got monotonous fast. I only looked forward to gambling my winnings after every spin. It’s worth noting that you don’t necessarily have to gamble your entire rewards. You can split them into smaller amounts and lower your risk.  

In summary, playing Hot Seven was a great way to travel back to the good old days of classic slots. The game has simple artwork. The game only got boring because there were no features to look forward to. The lack of a soundtrack didn’t help.
