Winifreds Chronicles: Gadgets, Gizmos, and Automatons With up to 4x Multipliers

Steampunk vibes and Tesla coils are all over the place in Winifreds Chronicles by Betixon. As is tradition with the software provider, the slot comes with highly detailed visuals, simple mechanics accessible for everybody, and a few net features such as free spins and up to 4x multipliers. 

The slot contains a 5x3 grid with payouts for landing symbols on adjacent reels. Symbols in the game are highly elaborate with custom animations for each of the unique scientists and robots on the grid. You also get a bonus reel below the playable grid that drops chests that come with multipliers and need a diamond symbol to access. 

The base game might have a decent setup with plenty of options but that didn’t mean I had a profitable time inside the game though. I found that the lower-paying symbols were a little too low getting me between 0.25x to 1.70x my bet for the most part. Wins are decided by the bonus reel and unless you land the diamond symbol to activate the reel, most wins felt like they had little impact on the game. 

On the other hand, a few decent multipliers activated by the bonus reel meant that I made up to 22x wins in a few cases which helped me to get back most of the losses I’d made in the base game. Sprinkle in a few wild symbols and the same wins went up to 45x my bet on one instance which was the biggest win I made in the game! 

Finally, the free spins feature is very easy to trigger and is a common sight in the game thanks to regular scatter drops. I was able to activate it three times during my playthrough and get a few modest wins between 18x to 27.90x my bet. 

Despite getting a very slow start in the base game, Winifreds Chronicles grew on me quickly with its impressive visuals, frequent multipliers, and wild drops. The game might have gone all out on the visuals but the simple features keep its gameplay dynamic enough for me to recommend trying it out.
