Star Trek: The Next Generation by BGaming puts us aboard the Enterprise with Picard and crew running the reels instead of the ship. We’ve got cascading wins, respins triggered through the Power Meter, a Warp Speed wheel for extra payouts, and free spins with multipliers that keep building with every cascade. With up to 10,000x on the table, I went in expecting the respins to do most of the heavy lifting. 

The game runs on a 5x5 grid with 3,125 ways to win. Cascades trigger after every win, and base hits came in fairly often, usually every 2 to 3 spins. Most of those sat between 0.10x to 0.80x my bet, with the occasional push past 1x when a couple of cascades lined up properly. Nothing huge, but steady enough to keep things moving.

Three or more cascades fill the Power Meter and trigger the respin feature. I didn’t expect much from it at first, but this ended up being one of the better parts of the session. The feature revolves around mystery symbol reveals, and in my case, it kept landing higher-paying symbols more often than not. Most respins were comfortably clearing 10x per round.

The Warp Speed wheel also showed up a few times after clearing the grid, usually landing in the 10x to 25x range. Across a few triggers, I ended up with 40x on the first, 16x on the second, and a third run that pushed the total to 71.40x. It’s a simple setup, but it paid better than expected.

Free spins are triggered by landing 3 scatters and give you four options. I went with the medium setup: 6 spins starting at 2x, with the multiplier increasing by +2 on every cascade and not resetting between spins. It’s straightforward and easy to track. The cascades didn’t go too far, but the multiplier stacked enough to finish the round at 25.80x my bet.

Star Trek: The Next Generation by BGaming feels more complex than it actually is. Once you get past the UI, it’s mostly about chaining cascades and getting into the respin feature. That part carried the session for me more than anything else. I, for one, really enjoyed the quick frequency of base game and bonus hits, and I’ll definitely be returning to this slot.
