Heart of Tiki by BGaming has Polynesian roots, where tiki figures symbolize protection, ancestry, and creation. Here, those same figures are turned into slot symbols on a tropical island filled with volcanoes and palm trees. With a 5,000x max win and up to 5x5 giant wilds in the bonus, it didn’t take me long to land on this island.

On this volcanic island, I came across a five-reel, five-row slot with 50 paylines. The RTP sits at 96.96% with mid-high volatility, which is a good starting point. To its credit, the base game did play accordingly.

During my session, I was landing wins every two to three spins, with returns between 0.80x and 1.30x my bet. It kept my session fairly active, but not very profitable. I didn’t see any real spikes that could push my balance back up, so over time, my bankroll slowly drifted into the red.

Landing five red tiki masks could have secured a 24x return, but it remained elusive during my testing. At that point, I was hoping the bonus round would be more generous. I needed three or more scatters to trigger it, and it took me around 80 spins to get there.

The feature starts with six free spins and a moving wild that grows as you collect more scatters. I know, it sounds promising, especially with the giant moving wilds expanding up to a 5x5 space across the grid.

However, in my case, it never really took off. Even with two extra free spins and a 4x4 wild, I came out of the bonus with a 53x return, which did not feel worth the wait. It worked, but it didn’t leave much of an impact.

There is also a feature buy option at 100x your bet, along with a chance boost mechanic, but I didn’t go for either. Given how both the base game and bonus performed, I wasn’t convinced enough to try them.

In my opinion, Heart of Tiki has high base game potential, but during my game session, the rewards did not match the expectations from a studio like BGaming. If I were to return to this island in the future, looking for good profits, I wouldn’t be too confident.
