Big Time Gaming is bringing a festive cheer to us slot gamers with Fireworks Megaways. Set in a brightly lit village fair, the slot brings all kinds of fireworks with unique features, the classic megaways feature, cascading reels, and free spins with multipliers just to name a few features. 

Exploring the base game of this title brought me to a grid with 6 reels and between 2 to 5 symbols and a bonus reel at the bottom packed full of symbols and fireworks. I was also quite impressed by the high volatility and up to 117,649 paylines. However, the base game didn’t go very well for me due to a couple of factors. 

Among these factors, the prime reason for my unsuccessful session were the low symbol pays. The lower-paying symbols go as low as 0.05x your bet and most cascades don’t prove to be very useful in the game from my experience. Add to that the bonus reel which needs a firework symbol right above the reel which is set on fire and you have a very hit-and-miss system at work. 

During the base game, most of my wins ranged from 0.30x to 1.20x my bet, and they occurred every 2 to 4 spins. Occasionally, I triggered the firework bonus, which can yield significantly larger wins, but it's tough to activate. One time, I secured an impressive 9.30x win, although typically, these bonuses stayed below 3x my bet.

The bonus game features a relatively common free spins mode, triggered by 2 or more scatter symbols dropping onto the reels. The only issue I had in this regard was that scatter symbols can only land on the leftmost or rightmost reels making them relatively scarce. 

You receive 12 free spins to start, with each scatter that lands during the round granting an additional 4 spins. During this round, an extra space is randomly selected, potentially triggering the firework wild bonus. Each time this happens, you also receive a +1x win multiplier.

I was able to make some impressive wins between 70x to 98.75x my bet with this feature. The biggest win I made in Fireworks Megaways also came courtesy of the bonus as a few lucky wilds brought my multiplier up to 11x and my total win was a mind-boggling 193.80x my bet! 

Although the latter half of Fireworks Megaways by Big Time Gaming was a sight to behold, the game isn’t perfect. It has a slow base game with unremarkable wins for the most part. Keeping that in mind, I’ll only recommend trying it for free on our website and not wagering real money on it.
