I made between 0.50x to 2.50x returns every 2 to 4 spins with a few lucky cascades getting me up to 10.50x returns. That said, they were quite rare and most wins that weren’t followed by bigger cascades struggled to get over 1x my bet which made the base game slightly unprofitable on average. 

Bonus treasure chests and quite common on the reels and I was getting 1 to 3 of them every couple of spins. However, you need 4 or more of these symbols to actually trigger the free spins bonus. Additionally, each time you land 3 or more scatters during the free spins bonus round, you get an additional 5 spins to play. 

Random multipliers are present in the free spins bonus game but take some elbow grease to actually activate. The biggest multiplier I saw during my playthrough was 10x and although rare, they bring an exciting element of variability to the base game which I welcomed wholeheartedly. 

It took me a long time to trigger the feature but thanks to the multiplier symbols being added up at the end of each win, I made a massive 43.65x win by the end of the bonus game. If you are having trouble getting to the bonus, a bonus buy mechanic is also present worth 100x your bet. However, it is far too expensive in my opinion considering the potential wins I made using the feature. 

On the whole, Holly Jolly Bonanza by Booming Games is a beautifully designed slot title with bright symbols and a festive atmosphere all over its mechanics. I would have liked a bigger grid or a lower amount of symbols needed for the cluster pays but the base game is decent and the bonus is like the icing on the cake for the people who want to experience the game fully.
