Sands of Fortune takes us to the marvelous land of Ancient Egypt. So get on your camel and let’s visit the pyramids. The game is distinctly Egyptian, with hieroglyphic symbols lining the light gray background. The symbols you’ll find include the all-seeing eye, a beetle, and a black pyramid. It also uses the standard card icons, although these are also set on an Egyptian tablet that’s covered in hieroglyphics.

Before starting the game, it would be a good idea to set the number of paylines you want to bet on (1 to 9). I placed bets on all paylines to increase the chance of hitting wins in every spin. Consider your budget, though, when choosing the number of win lines.

What impressed me most about this game is that I got the bonus almost all the time. When it’s triggered, a cartoonish sound will ask ‘Are you for real?’ You’ll then proceed to choose one of three creepy-looking tunnels. You will uncover treasures if you pick the right ones. Otherwise, the bonus round will end, and you’ll go back to the base game.

Keep in mind that the bonus game goes on for as long as you pick the right tunnels. This made it quite profitable for me. 

Remember that you don’t have to always press the play button to spin the reels. It is better to use the auto-spins function to automate this process. Unfortunately, Eyecon doesn’t let players use the spacebar to spin the reels, and this can be quite irritating.

To sum up, Sands of Fortune was an action-filled slot, particularly because the bonus is triggered regularly. I found the bonus quite profitable. The design of the game also drew me in, even though there is no soundtrack.
