There are no traditional reels, paylines, or even symbols dropping down for that matter. The game looks like an updated version of Duck Hunt for the NES, you have a first-person view of the ducks, birds, and symbols moving around the horizon, and clicking the spin button allows the hunter to take a single shot. 

I really liked the premise of the game as the different kinds of ducks act like symbols in the sense that shooting them is the way to make returns. My first few bets in the game got me 1x returns alongside 3 free spins which was quite a treat to behold. In general, I made between 1x to 5x returns per bird shot but conversely, shooting them was no cakewalk either. 

My one gripe here was that, unlike crash titles, I wasn’t able to control when and where the shots go. I simply clicked on the spin button and the hunter took the shot when he felt like it. Worse yet, I didn’t even see the bullet trails to let me know by how much I had missed, which made me feel like I had no control over the game itself. 

The biggest win I made during my playthrough of Duck King came through the free spin round where I made 3 spins where I made two 1x returns and a single 20x win which was the highest win of my session. I was decently amused by Duck King, it has its drawbacks but it is a novel concept that I’d recommend checking out in the demo above.
