Ahoy Royale: Sail the High Seas, Fire Broadsides and Chase 7,500x Treasures

Iron Dog Studio gives you another shot at hunting buried pirate treasure in the uncharted seas of Ahoy Royale. With multiple jackpots in play and a win potential of up to 7,500x your bet, the setup looks tempting enough. I packed my bags and gave it a run, but the real question is whether this voyage is worth your time.
This is a five-reel, four-row slot with 10 set paylines. With a treasure chest theme across the grid, you will see pirate swords, pistols, rum bottles, and other low-paying symbols filling the reels. The RTP is set at 93.13%, which is quite low, and the volatility is high. So yes, the water here is definitely treacherous.
You need three or more matching symbols on a payline to land a win. During my playthrough, I was landing a win every five to six spins, while my average payout hovered around 2.5x to 3x my bet. The highest I managed in the base game was 12x my bet, thanks to the wilds.
Speaking of Wilds, there is a special pirate symbol that can randomly turn into a collector or convert random symbols into Wilds across the grid. When it shows up, it does bring some hope, but in my run, it did not appear often enough to change the overall outcome of my session.
As for the bonus round, the Hold and Win feature can randomly trigger in the base game. I landed my first bonus within 20 spins, which returned 34.50x my bet. Overall, I triggered the bonus twice in nearly 200 spins, so do not expect this feature to be too generous.
There is no bonus buy option here, so your bonus luck is fully dependent on the base game. Jackpots are only available inside the bonus round, and sadly, I did not manage to land any. So it is best not to count on that either.
In short, Ahoy Royale has a pretty good visual presentation and a well-structured Hold and Win feature. However, in my experience, games with a low RTP and high volatility combo rarely feel very rewarding. So be prepared before you set sail.
PROS - 7,500x max win
- Bonus rounds with respins
CONS - Long draughts in the base game
- low RTP and high volatility combo
- Lack of features
Sweet Candy Blitz
I like the simplicity of this game, easy to follow, and the Collector feature is nice when it hits. But the RTP is on the low side, and without free spins, it gets repetitive quickly.

I like the fire visuals and the 2x wilds do spice things up. Hit the Hold & Win once and got 770 out of it on a 10 bet, not bad at all. Didn’t expect that much from it, so it was a nice surprise. Solid slot overall.
Sweet Candy Blitz
Got 570 on a 10 bet during Hold & Win, solid hit, even without landing a jackpot. The Collector feature actually paid off this time. Volatility feels fair, and with a bit of patience, the rewards show up.
Train Strike Hold and Win
The Wild West + fruit combo is a bit odd, but it looks nice. Hit a 10x win (FUN 50 on a FUN 5 bet), which was cool, but nothing huge. Hold & Win showed up once, didn’t lead to much. It’s alright for a few spins, but I probably won’t stick with it long-term.
Train Strike Hold and Win
Was skeptical with only 5 paylines, but the bonus rounds actually carry the game. The Hold & Win feature triggered more often than expected, and I had a 200x win. Still, the 95% RTP is on the low side for me.
3 Wicked Devils
The game looks great and the mechanics are there: free spins, multipliers, jackpots but it doesn’t feel very rewarding. The 95% RTP doesn’t help either. Okay to try, not a go-to for me.
