The game runs on a 5x3 grid with 10 paylines and a medium volatility setting. During my session, wins took around three to six spins and brought returns between 0.70x to 5x my bet. The expanding wilds were a solid addition and ended up carrying most of the weight in the base game. When they landed, I could easily score wins up to 10x my stake. 

Despite these bigger hits, the base game felt a little too barebones and the payouts were just low enough to take the excitement out of regular spins. I often found myself simply waiting for the scatter symbols to land, hoping the bonus round would finally bring in some satisfying wins.

Three or more scatter symbols trigger the free spins round and I was lucky enough to land all five, which awarded me 12 spins. The same expanding wilds from the base game appear her,e and each one you land adds an extra spin. Despite all that, my first go at the bonus only gave me 22.90x in returns. Even with additional spins and retriggers in later sessions, I never broke past the 30x mark, which left me wanting more from the round.

Athena’s Treasure looks and sounds like a power-packed title, and while the wilds do their job, the bonus round felt underwhelming to say the least.
