Giza Fortunes Hold and Win: Walk the Sands Beneath the Pyramid and Dig for 10,000x Wins

Giza Fortunes Hold and Win by Novomatic is a classic five-reel, three-row slot that drops us at the foot of the pyramids under a warm desert sky. The visuals did not sweep me off my feet, but the music suits the theme perfectly and is genuinely soothing.

The mechanical side runs on 10 paylines and high volatility, with Cleopatra leading the paytable at 25x my bet for five of a kind and the Pharaoh acting as Wild on reels 2 through 4. The biggest treasure is a 10,000x Grand Jackpot, climbing through Mini, Minor, and Major on the way up.

In the first half of my session, hits came often but barely left a mark, mostly 0.5x to 1x, with one Scarab line completed by the Pharaoh Wild, pushing about 6x my bet. Coins landed regularly, each carrying a value and feeding gold into the pyramid above the reels. But, in vain.

Anyway, when 6 or more coins land on one spin, Hold and Win locks them across 3 respins that reset with each new one. A Collect symbol sums every coin on the grid, and a 10x Multiplier on the special row multiplies all coins in its column. I triggered it once for 8x and once for 3x.

By the second half, wins thinned out, the range dropped to scraps, and my balance could not afford to wait for another Hold and Win to dig me out.

Giza Fortunes did not deliver from any angle. A simple system does not mean a weak session, but mine was exactly that, and nothing calls me to walk back through the sand again.

Standard mechanics with low returns

Hits occur often but rarely cover the bet. Hold and Win mechanics are okay, but my payout only reached 8x. High volatility means you need that 10x multiplier to really see any movement.

I thought this would be an entertaining session, but the vibe is off. Betting 6.00 and seeing a 1.50 return is frustrating. There’s just no excitement building up at all.
