We kick things off in the wizard’s cluttered basement, surrounded by magical books and mysterious trinkets. At the center is a 5x5 grid where matching 3 or more symbols in a row or column triggers a win. Those symbols vanish, and new ones cascade down, giving you more chances to rack up wins. The wild symbols here fit this setup perfectly. They don’t just help form combos, they also track the number of symbols cleared and award them as multipliers. 

Match with the same wild again, and the multiplier gets activated, spicing things up with bigger payouts. Each regular win also leaves behind a wild, so you’ll be hanging out with this feature a lot during regular spins. Since symbol payouts aren’t that high on their own, these wild multipliers were key to boosting my returns. Most of my wins fell between 0.50x and 2.40x my bet thanks to them. 

Mystery symbols showed up now and then, but since they couldn’t transform into wilds or scatters, they didn’t do much for me. Scatters were far more exciting. Landing 3 or more triggered the free spins bonus, where wilds turn sticky. The background changes and the wizard gets to brewing, and with wild multipliers climbing past 20x, I easily pulled over 60x returns during the feature.

All in all, Potion Power checks every box for what I want in a modern slot. Its quirky art style gave me major Adventure Time vibes, and the gameplay never let up with wilds showing up constantly and free spins dishing out solid payouts.
