Aces and Faces by Rival: Royal Flush Delight
Eduard Marin rated this game:
3 out of 5
So, I tried out Rival's Aces and Faces video poker, and here's the lowdown in plain talk.
The high points first. I liked that the game was easy to understand. If you know your poker hands, you're good to go. The graphics were decent too, nothing mind-blowing but not eyesore either. The gameplay was smooth, no glitches or weird stuff. Plus, there were plenty of options for betting, so you could start small or go big, depending on your mood.
Aces and Faces gives you a chance to score some decent wins when you hit four aces or faces (jacks, queens, kings) in your hand. That's where the name comes from. But, and here's where the low points come in, it can be a bit unforgiving. You'll need a pretty solid poker strategy to come out on top consistently. It's not a game of pure luck, and those aces and faces don't show up as often as you might hope.
The sound department is ok. I say that because even though it has a pretty nice background music and card shuffling sounds, they are not the most immersive. They don’t transport you in the middle of a crowded real casino. Bottom line, they are just ok…
And, this is a pretty personal opinion, I wish it had more variety. Aces and Faces can get a tad repetitive after a while. It's just you and the cards, no extra bells and whistles. There are no side bets, no extra features… The Gamble option present does its best to make up for those missing extras, but it has its limits.
So, I can say that Rival's Aces and Faces video poker is a no-nonsense, classic game. It's good if you're into poker and want a straightforward experience. Just be ready for the ups and downs because those aces and faces don't always show up when you want them to.
- Aces and Faces can bring good wins
- Gamble feature
- Very good RTP of 99.26%
- No extra features
- Highly volatility
