This traditional fast-paced table game has long been part of New Year celebrations, where a lucky roll is said to “set the tone” for the months ahead. As a player, you wager on symbols rather than numbers, and the three dice carrying six symbols of the Fish, Calabash, Coin, Crab, Prawn, and Rooster decide who scoops up the pot.

Before the countdown ends, you place your bets, so the dealer can give the cup a good shake. Whatever lands face up determines whether the round ends in a cheer or a shrug. One matching symbol pays you even, two doubles it, and all three repay your investment threefold.

You can sit at Casual, Novice, or Advanced tables, each with its own betting limits. I started at Casual and spent the opening rounds backing Fish and Crab just to get a feel for the flow. Both landed within five rolls, enough to get comfortable.

From there, I mixed things up with a Specific Double on Fish and Prawn, and it connected on the second try for 5x the stake. Then, when I paired a Rooster single with an Any Triple bet, I watched all three dice land the symbol and a clean 30x my bet.
