When I first spun up this time machine, I found myself facing a 5x3 grid with 25 paylines and medium volatility. The mechanics here were set for quick wins and I only ever had to spin the reels two or three times to land them. That said, the wins themselves were rather small, coming in between 0.20x to 1x my bet. 

A few wilds here and there did help me make bigger wins up to 4x my bet but they weren’t super common which kept the overall trajectory of the base game in the negative for me. I had to rely on the mini reel on top of the playable grid which brought bonus or cash prizes and sometimes got me decent payouts between 2x to 5x my bet. 

Just when I thought I was heading for big losses, I landed a mammoth symbol right under the mini-reel with the bonus. This triggered the Hold and Win style bonus game, giving me 3 spins with the chance to earn more if I landed additional cash symbols. This round turned out to be super profitable, scoring me a 55x win and singlehandedly pushing me into a small profit. 

Getting to the free spins bonus game was much harder than landing the Bonus game and it took me nearly 150 spins to nail down. When I did get to it, the 10 free spins I was given were not enough to justify the time and lost spins it took me to trigger. Ironically, I had better luck right after the free spins where I got a 50.60x cash prize on the mini-reel. 

I enjoyed the spectacular bonus features and high winning potential of Mammoth Gold by Skywind Group. However, the base game is tough to profit from and does little to bridge the long gaps between triggering the free spins or bonus game.
