European Roulette: Drag the Chip, Trust the Single Zero

European Roulette is a new entry to Storm Gaming Technology's table game library. Let's see how the variant with the lower house edge, compared to its American counterpart, worked out for me.

Instead of selecting a chip and tapping the spot you want to bet on, here you drag the chip across the table and drop it where you want it. The motion makes placing a bet feel more deliberate, and visually, it's a noticeable step up.

The rest of the flow is what you'd expect from a roulette title. You pick a chip value, drag it to a number, a group, or one of the outside areas, and once your bet is set, you hit Spin. Standard undo, clear bets, double, and last bet are all there to keep your gameplay easier and intuitive. 

The wheel has 37 pockets here, numbered 0 to 36, and that single zero is the whole reason this version sits better with the math than the American one. Over the first 20 or so spins, I mostly stuck to outside bets and a couple of dozens, and the 2x and 3x returns came in every three to ten spins. 

A corner finally landed at 9x my bet right around the time I was about to walk it back, and not long after, a six line came through for 6x. I threw the Orphelins somewhere in the middle for the called-bet flavor, and 14 actually hit, which netted around 29x my total stake on it. 

I don't know if the lower house edge actually changed my session or if I just caught a good night, but everything about this version sat better with me. One less pocket on the wheel, a chip you drag instead of click, and a session that finally broke my way, all of it adds up to a game I'd pick over the American one without thinking twice.
