SYNOT Games radical new entry Aztec Jaguar Megaways may not seem like a far cry from their usual slot design but underneath I found one of the most favorable slot titles on paper. 

The slot has the famous Megaways feature alongside the Hold and Win feature. As incredible as it sounds, my experience with it wasn’t the best. Wins made in the base game were infrequent and small whereas triggering the bonus round was an ordeal in itself to trigger. 

I only managed to trigger it at the very start of my playthrough and the wins were great during the round. However, I never managed to trigger the Hold and Win bonus back at all during my extensive time in the game.  

For this, I’d recommend trying out the Bonus Buy system that has been neatly added for 70x the bet. During my playthrough, I used it a fair amount of times just to see the potential wins and it was hands down the most lucrative part of the game. 

Generally, I was able to keep getting respins until most of the reels were filled with coins and a mini (20x) or minor (50x) jackpot here and there. Although the wins were not life-changing in any way, I felt like they were consistent enough to give the bonus buy a shot. 

From my perspective, SYNOT Games deserves respect for blending two mechanics that are so distinct. On the other hand, I will be the first person to say that the execution left me with less than favorable memories.
