It seemed promising at first, but I quickly realized that this combination not only made wins tougher to land but also kept payouts lower than average. I found myself hitting returns between 0.30x and 2.40x every 3 to 5 spins, slowly chipping away at my bankroll. 

Hoping for some divine luck, I kept spinning until a bolt of lightning struck one of the totems. It seemed the spirits were feeling generous because a thunder snake symbol appeared right where the lightning hit. I was thrilled to see the entire reel turn wild, awarding me a respin! These respins would come along periodically sometimes with one wild reel and sometimes with even 2 and get me between 2.40x to 10.40x returns. 

Before long, I had recovered most of my losses from the base game and was finally inching toward a profit. Just as things were picking up, lightning struck three separate reels as I landed 3 snake symbols which turned 3 reels into thunder reels, launching me straight into the bonus game! 

Everything was happening so fast that I almost forgot the bonus only gives 5 spins, which meant the bonus round was over almost as surprisingly as it first appeared! The good news was that all wild reels stayed locked, which helped me score a modest 14.50x win. Although the win two ways mechanic that came with the wilds did help me once reach an impressive 10x win, it wasn’t much of an asset during the bonus game. 

While Turning Totems might not blow you away with huge wins, the game’s unique concept stood out to me. I really enjoyed the graphics, the design, and the steady appearance of wild reels that kept the gameplay engaging. It definitely gets a thumbs up from me!
