Happy Prison by TrueLab looks like somebody fused My Little Pony with Regular Show and then threw the whole cast into a maximum security prison. We’ve got steroid-abusing unicorns, mushrooms that look completely fried out of their minds, and enough contraband on the reels to get everyone locked up for another twenty years. Somehow, there’s also a prison riot cooking with multiplier wilds carrying up to 10,000x wins. Lovely place.

The game runs on a 6x4 grid with 4,096 ways to win. Symbol pays stay pretty low, starting at 0.10x and only reaching 7x your bet for the best regular symbols. Luckily, with so many paylines active, landing wins was easy enough. In my session, most combinations showed up every 2 to 4 spins and usually paid between 0.40x to 3x my bet.

Wilds don’t show up often during the base game, but that feels intentional. Here they mostly act as support pieces to keep combinations alive when the reels start falling apart. They helped me maintain steady returns more than they helped me build anything major. The real value comes later once the prison riot kicks off and the multipliers start getting involved.

Free spins are triggered by landing 3 bonus symbols anywhere on the reels. I landed the minimum trigger and got 10 free spins. During the feature, wilds can land with 2x and 3x multipliers attached, and special super scatter symbols begin removing lower-paying symbols from the reels permanently. The more junk symbols removed, the easier it becomes to land stronger combinations and multiplier chains.

Inside the bonus, the whole prison basically collapses into chaos. Animals start stabbing each other with candy-colored shanks while guards completely lose control of the yard. My session stayed active throughout, with multiplier wilds often landing in pairs and pushing individual spins into the 3x to 6x range. I also landed one extra spin through a super scatter symbol. By the end of the riot, the total payout reached 54.20x my bet.

Happy Prison honestly feels like somebody lost a bet and had to turn a children’s cartoon into a prison documentary. The gameplay itself is familiar enough, but the presentation absolutely carries it. Watching a cracked-out unicorn start a prison uprising was not something I expected to enjoy this much, but I absolutely did.
