Donny King: Try This Casual Game, But Beware of the Dynamite!

Donny King is a casual game of chance developed by Turbo Games. When the game loaded, I saw that it resembled a retro-style video games console and was impressed by the design. The main character, the gorilla Donny King who wore a yellow jacket and pink bow tie, was on a TV screen in the centre. 

The aim of the game was simple: pick one of four directions and Donny King will reveal a prize, which lets you have another turn, or dynamite, which ends the turn. The game had three volatility options, which was good to see. I started with the lowest one (one dynamite per round), then tried the second one (two lots of dynamite), and finally the third one (three lots of dynamite).

I liked how there was a bonus round that triggered whenever Donny King revealed three lightning bolts without producing dynamite. The bonus round, which was optional, was straightforward: I simply had to choose left or right, and I’d reveal dynamite or a multiplier. The game told me it was risky, but I still played it whenever it triggered. 

Needless to say, I didn’t earn the top multiplier, though I did win a 2x multiplier for my winnings one time. My biggest payout came when I was on the highest volatility level. I managed to reveal two prizes in a row and cashed out with a payout worth over 15x my bet.

I liked how the game put key decisions into my hands. This made the wins feel great, but the losses felt like much more of a hit. Still, the gameplay was enjoyable overall.
