The base game is quite simplistic in nature with no added features or complex mechanics. You have a 5x3 grid with 243 paylines and high volatility which seems great on paper but didn’t exactly pan out the same way during my time inside it. Sure, I got wins every 2 to 4 spins but they were quite low in amount starting at 0.26x to 3x my bet. 

A few wins did go up to 7.6x my bet but they were quite rare and didn’t leave much of an impact on my bankroll. This is why the bonus features available in Longhorn Jackpots are so important as they were practically the only way to make a profit in this game. 

The first feature I managed to trigger was the Jackpot Pick bonus game by landing a few wilds on the reels. On every wild symbol that drops down the reels, you get a chance to trigger this feature and it took me little time to do so. The bonus gave me 12 hidden symbols to pick from and getting 3 matching symbols awards the corresponding jackpot on the right side of the reels. 

I was able to get a mini and minor jackpot during my playthrough which helped me consolidate my bankroll. These impressive wins also led me to the free spins bonus which needs 3 or more silver star symbols to create a winning combination. Getting to that point took me way longer than I had expected but got me around 25x wins which pushed my bankroll into a small profit.
