Apart from the cash collection mechanic, the base game payouts did very little to offset my losses. To make matters worse, the bonus feature was so difficult to trigger that it became another source of frustration.

For me, Football Hits could have benefited greatly from mechanics like a gamble feature or expanding wilds to bring more life into the base game. That alone would have made the long wait for the bonus feel more worthwhile.
