The base game comes in a familiar format with 5 reels, 3 rows, and 20 winning lines with a mini reel on top carrying multipliers. Usually, such a limited setup does not carry the cascading reels feature but this slot does bring a happy middleground. It has decent symbol pays and rare cascades that have increasing multipliers up to 5x which is a nice addition that can bring some big wins. 

In my session, I had terrible luck with the base game, with some wins taking up to 15 spins and mostly yielding returns between 0.75x and 1.50x on average. A few wins went up to 8x my bet, but the cascading reels didn't lead to any significant payouts. This quickly started draining my bankroll, but scatters were landing frequently, and before long, I managed to get 3 of them, granting me entry into the slot's bonus game. 

I had 10 free spins to play through and the cascading reels were much more important here as multipliers per cascade can go up to 15x. The one issue I have here is that the multipliers don’t become sticky, they are reset after each spin which meant that wins that I was landing had to hold out on their own. Due to this, I had very little returns from the feature with the first time bringing a tiny 3x win and the second bringing a slightly bigger 13x win over my bet. 

Overall, the Record Breaker slot game by Mancala Gaming failed to reach my expectations in terms of payouts. The game mostly has everything else, good graphics, fun features, and even a bonus that can bring in some big wins. However, the core gameplay loop left a lot to be desired as the cascading reels do not activate often making both the base and bonus game unprofitable.
