Midnight Bandits: Go Dumpster Diving With Raccoons For up to 10,000x Wins

Midnight Bandits by Betsoft has you digging through dumpsters with a squad of raccoons looking for donuts, carrying cash rewards. There’s a Loot Bin sitting on top, random wild drops, stacked symbols, six different jackpots, and a Hold & Win feature that can expand the grid up to four times its size. With 10,000x rewards hiding within these dumpsters, I had to check out what they were really hiding within. 

The game runs on a 5x3 grid with 243 ways to win. Symbol pays are extremely low, ranging between 0.04x to 0.40x for regular combinations. Easily some of the lowest I’ve seen in a while. You can land multiple winning combos at once, which helps a bit, but the base game still felt weak. Most of my returns stayed between 0.20x to 0.32x, which isn’t much to work with.

Stacked mystery symbols were one of the better parts. Entire reels can flip into the same symbol after landing, and they showed up fairly often in my session. Even then, the payouts didn’t really scale. The best I got from them was around 2.88x, which sums up the base game pretty well.

There’s also a nudging wild multiplier on the third reel. It expands into a full wild reel and applies a multiplier, usually around 2x in my session. When it connected properly, I saw wins close to 4x, but it didn’t show up often enough to rely on.

The main feature is the Hold & Win. I triggered it after collecting a decent number of coin symbols, and it starts with a 5x3 grid that can expand into four separate grids. Landing more coin symbols unlocks additional grids, and before they even open, coins can still land on them, which was a nice touch. The feature works like a standard respin setup, resetting spins whenever new coins land.

My first trigger was disappointing. I didn’t unlock any extra grids, most coin values stayed between 1x to 3x, and the round ended at 11x my bet.

The second trigger was much better. I started with over 10 coin symbols, which opened up two grids immediately. From there, I managed to unlock all four grids. Most values still sat between 1x to 2x, and I didn’t land any jackpots, but with coins stacking across all grids, the total reached 109x my bet.

Midnight Bandits has a lot going on, but the base game holds it back. The Hold & Win feature can save the session, but getting there isn’t always enjoyable.
