BGaming takes a break from serious-looking slots and plunges into cartoon waters with Shark and Spark Hold and Win. Beneath this bright underwater setup sits a 5,000x max win, two different bonus rounds, pearl multipliers up to 10x, and a Shark & Ladders feature inspired by the classic board game.

This is a six-reel, five-row scatter-pay slot where you only need 8 matching symbols anywhere on the grid to create a payout. Around the reels, you’ll see colorful fish, smiling sharks, and glowing pearls with multipliers. RTP is set at a very strong 97%, while the volatility leans mid-high.

Unfortunately, the actual payouts were far less impressive during my session. I was landing wins every 3 to 4 spins, though most of them stayed between 1x and 1.30x my bet. I didn’t see much beyond those small returns.

The main mechanic revolves around those Pearl Symbols. They can land with direct cash values ranging from 1x up to 20x my bet, or as multipliers going from 2x up to 10x. If you manage to connect 8 or more Pearl Symbols together, all values get added, and any multiplier pearl then boosts the entire amount.

Despite the mechanic sounding exciting on paper, I did not see it connect often enough to create anything memorable during the base game itself. After around 30 spins, I triggered the Shark & Ladders feature by landing five scatter shells. 

This bonus works like a Snakes & Ladders-style board game where the shark rolls dice, collects pearl values, multipliers, and extra rolls. It can even land on a Wheel of Fortune worth between 100x and 5,000x.

Unfortunately, my round completely failed to take advantage of any of that potential and ended with only a 7x return.

Roughly 30 spins later, I triggered the Coin Spin feature, which works like a standard Hold and Win bonus. Again, I walked away with only a disappointing 4x return. Truthfully, those were some of the weakest bonus payouts I could possibly imagine after waiting through the feature triggers.

Shark and Spark Hold and Win is a slot with plenty of familiar mechanics stacked together, with very little consistency in payouts. If I were specifically looking for satisfying rewards, this would not be the underwater adventure I would return to.
