The base game of Dragon Rising brings familiar mechanics that any slot enthusiast would know. You have 5 reels and 3 rows joined by 50 paylines and high volatility. Regular spins don’t have any features but the gameplay remained action-packed for me thanks to the frequent wins coming every 2 to 5 spins with amounts ranging from 0.40x to 3.40x my bet. 

You also have two different meters on either side of the spinning reels with the red meter giving you 5 free spins and the yellow one boosting that up to 10 spins. The bonus feature can also be triggered by landing 3 or more scatters on the reels which was much easier to do in my case. 

The first time I triggered the feature I won a decent 13.40x win which put me on the track to make a profit through the game. After that, I was able to trigger the feature a few more times with wins between 9.60x to 17x my bet with 5 free spins. With 10 spins I was able to get much bigger wins starting at 26.60x my bet to 43x my bet. 

It is worth noting that even when you fill up one of the meters to trigger the free spins feature, the second one doesn’t reset. So the more you play the game, the more your chances of winning some hefty wins and turning a profit. 

In my experience, Dragon Rising by Caleta Gaming has striking visuals and a clean art style with simple mechanics that make it easy to play for anybody. That being said, the game isn’t very profitable so do keep that in mind before trying it out.
