40 Hells Cherries: Slice Through 40 Paylines and Score Up to 500x Wins

CT Interactive brings back its familiar retro flavor with 40 Hells Cherries, a classic-style video slot that caps out at 500x your bet. It packs in almost everything you’d expect from a traditional fruit machine: simple payouts, old-school visuals, and that familiar 40-payline layout. But with so many classic slots floating around, does this one actually deserve the rating I’m giving it? Let’s see!

40 Hells Cherries runs on a 5-reel, 4-row setup with 40 paylines and medium volatility. It sticks to the classic fiery-fruit theme and keeps things very straightforward. The symbol payouts follow the usual pattern, starting at 0.20x and going up to 25x your bet. The only curveball is that the Seven symbol acts as the wild, which threw me off for a bit. 

In my play session, most of my returns floated between 2x and 5.40x my bet, but landing them wasn’t smooth at all. Sometimes it took close to 8 spins for a single win, even with 40 paylines helping out.

The game does include a Double Up feature, which activates after any win below 10x. You get an upside-down card and simply guess the color for a 2x boost or the suit for a 4x boost. It adds tiny sparks of excitement, but nothing game-changing.

There are scatter symbols, but they don’t unlock a bonus game. Instead, they pay on their own and can deliver up to 500x your bet. During my play, I mostly landed three scatters for 2x returns. My biggest hit was 40x, and that came from four scatter symbols showing up together.

To sum it up, 40 Hells Cherries feels like a copy-paste job from older CT Interactive releases. It doesn’t try anything new and doesn’t offer anything exciting outside the scatter wins. Once you cross that 500x top payout, that’s pretty much the ceiling, and compared to other classic-style slots that pack jackpots, this one feels underpowered.

I honestly don’t see a reason to recommend it. If you love old-school fruit slots, there are way better ones out there with more variety and higher win potential.
