Elk Studios is back with cherries, berries, and all kinds of fruits in the Boomberries slot game. You’ve got cluster pays, cascading reels, Hot Zones that stack multipliers up to ridiculous levels, and bonus rounds where those multipliers don’t reset. The max win goes up to 25,000x your bet, which is why I decided to test this slot out, and what I found was pretty surprising. 

The game runs on a 6x7 grid where you need 5 or more matching symbols to form wins. Symbol pays range between 0.10x to 100x your bet, but the base game doesn’t really do much on its own. In my session, most hits stayed between 0.15x to 1x, just enough to keep things moving but nowhere near enough to build anything meaningful.

Hot Zones are where things start picking up. Every winning position gets marked, and if you land another win on the same spot, the multiplier doubles. That’s where I started seeing returns between 2.25x to 9x my bet when a couple of those positions lined up properly. Without them stacking, the base game just stays flat.

Wilds show up in different forms here. Some clear symbols in patterns, others convert symbols into matching ones, but they don’t really act like traditional substitutes. I saw them pretty often, but most of the time they didn’t connect in a way that actually helped build clusters, so they ended up feeling more like setup tools than actual win drivers.

The bonus triggers when you land 3 bonus symbols at the end of a spin. I hit it twice. The first time, I went in with around 6 Hot Zones already active, most sitting at 2x. You get 10 bonus drops, and here the multipliers don’t reset. 

That’s where things finally stacked properly. I saw positions climb up to 16x and even hit 66x once everything started collecting together and that round paid 153.55x my bet. The second trigger didn’t build the same way. Fewer Hot Zones, lower multipliers, and the whole thing ended at 42.75x returns.
