Bushido Gold: Put a Samurai Castle to Siege and Battle Ninjas for up to 25,000x Wins

ELK Studios brings Kane back once again in Bushido Gold, this time stepping into a war-torn Japanese battlefield with exploding wilds, symbol splits, and Ninjas waiting at every corner. On paper, it’s stacked with features and offers up to 25,000x your bet, but in practice, it doesn’t always land the way you’d expect.

The game runs on a 6x4 grid with 4,096 ways to win, expanding with each cascade that follows a winning symbol combination. Symbols pay from as low as 0.10x up to 5x your bet, which already feels a bit underwhelming for a slot with this much going on. During my session, most base game wins stayed between 0.60x to 1.40x, even with exploding wilds in play.

The issue is how features are positioned. Giant symbols and wilds almost always landed in the middle reels, rarely on the first, which made them far less effective. Since this is a ways-to-win setup and not cluster-based, positioning matters a lot, and these features often felt wasted.

That said, the bonus game is where I started to actually enjoy this slot. Landing three scatter symbols triggers 6 Ninja Drops, and they’re fairly easy to come by on such a massive grid. My first trigger returned 44.40x, driven by the red Ninja symbol turning multiple positions wild, followed by explosions and symbol splits from the symbol slice feature. 

The second time, I managed to land a few extra scatters and win 2 extra free spins for each one landed. This helped me gain more chances for bigger cascades, and just one spin returned over 40x returns thanks to multiple wild explosions and cannons that dropped stacked wilds. I walked out with a 71.70x payout in total from that bonus round. 

You also get bonus buys at 100x for the standard and 500x for the super bonus, but honestly, neither felt worth it based on how the base and bonus pacing played out.

Bushido Gold has everything you’d expect from ELK Studios, but it ends up feeling too similar to their other releases, especially the Pirots series. I’d expect a better return for Kane especially when the series has been AWOL so long. However, the Bushido Gold slot is still worth a spin, especially for the free spins bonus and how easily accessible it is.
