But don't get your hopes too high, for I have been a victim of metaphorical thunder strikes in this slot.

This is a 3-5-3 style grid that operates entirely on a cash collection mechanism. There are no regular symbols here, only cash symbols worth up to 15x your bet alongside four jackpots.

Betting starts from 0.10x and goes up to 100x your bet. You’ll need to land cash or jackpot symbols on both the first and third reels, with the Vortex Collector sitting on the middle reel, to trigger the bonus round. The comparatively lower 94% RTP does not make that task any easier.

During my playthrough, I managed to land the Hold and Spin round roughly every 20 to 30 spins. But the fact that got under my skin was that before triggering the round, I kept seeing Jackpots and high cash symbols worth 10x and 15x my bet. Yet, once I was inside the bonus, I never saw a single symbol worth more than 5x my bet.

As a result, my bonus wins came in at 4x, 6x, and 8x my bet, with my highest reaching only 11x my bet. I couldn’t have been more disappointed with a slot where the bonus round is the USP.

There are also two Bonus Buy options costing 40x and 200x my bet. I tried both of them, and neither reward even crossed 10x my bet. And that was enough experimenting for me.

Coin Vortex Hold the Spin could have been more if the cash collection mechanic worked in the base game as well, allowing single cash symbols to pay when paired with the collector.

Since that’s not the case, and considering how low the bonus wins were during my session, I wouldn’t fancy wasting my time here again. There are some far better alternatives down below that are worth having a look at.
