Merkur Gaming’s Eye of Horus All Stars is an old-school video slot set in ancient Egypt with colorful artifacts and up to 50x symbol payouts. Alongside the expanding wilds, the slot offers free spins with three different features to keep things interesting. I gave this tried-and-true format from Merkur Gaming a proper run, and here’s how my experience played out.

The gameplay unfolds on a familiar 5x3 reel grid with 10 winning lines, just like many classic slots from the same era. Symbol payouts start at 0.50x your bet and reach up to 50x for the Eye of Horus symbols. Wins across multiple paylines are awarded, which helped improve my overall returns. With expanding wilds appearing fairly often, I was consistently landing payouts between 0.50x to 3.50x every 4 to 7 spins. 

As landing winning combos isn’t very easy, you get the option to either cash out or gamble your win in two different ways. First up is the card gamble mini-game, where you have to predict the right color of an upside-down card to double your win. Second is the ladder mini-game, where you can go up or down a ladder at random and win or lose your initial payout and then some. I personally didn’t find these gamble features to be very useful.  

The biggest win I got in the base game came from two expanding wilds landing on the second and third reels, leading to a solid 22.50x payout. Strangely enough, that was higher than most of my wins from the free spins bonus, which usually stayed below 20x. You can trigger the bonus by landing three or more scatter symbols, which awards 12 free spins.

There are three feature options during the bonus, and I found the sticky wilds to be the most rewarding. Any wild that lands stays locked until the round ends. With this feature active, I managed to score a nice 35.50x win during one of my sessions. 

To its credit, the Eye of Horus All Stars slot brings a feature-packed experience with room for good returns.
