Pyramids of Egypt: Strike a Deal With the Mummy

Few civilizations have captured the interest of the public like Ancient Egypt. With an influential culture and unheard-of longevity, its fame isn’t really a surprise. This is why the Ancient Egyptian theme has been used in lots of slots. 

Out of all games with this theme, Pyramids of Egypt definitely had one of the least impressive designs I’ve seen. Its background is mostly plain and seems lazily done. There are just a few priests depicted walking across the top part of the playing grid. The symbols didn’t impress me either. Another design flaw in the game was the lack of a suitable soundtrack. 

Pyramids of Egypt is truly devoid of features and special symbols. You won’t find a scatter or wild symbol, and bonuses like free spins are similarly unavailable. 

The only unique thing about the game is that it offers a 2X multiplier on wins formed by 12 card symbols (A, K, Q, and J). But in my experience, getting a full grid of card symbols was quite difficult.  

One thing I can say I liked about the game was its gamble feature. This can be played as a card game or a ladder game. For the card game, I simply had to pick a card suit, which could either be black or red. The ladder game is a lot easier, in my opinion. I had to indicate that I wanted to gamble my winnings, and a light would flicker between the ‘0’ figure and 2X the winnings. 

The gamble feature can be quite risky, which is why this game lets you half your bet. 

To sum up, Pyramids of Egypt was a major disappointment. It features poor artwork and doesn’t even have a fitting soundtrack. Worse still, the game doesn’t have any bonuses. The gamble option is perhaps the only redeeming quality in this slot.
